Martha Betker
86, of Custer, went peacefully to heaven on Friday, November 9, 2012, at Ministry St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. Martha was born on September 30, 1926 in the town of Franzen.
She was the daughter of the late John Davidowski & Mary (Cychosz) Davidowski-Delikowski. She grew up on a farm in the town of Reid with her mother, siblings and step-father, Mike Delikowski Sr.
She graduated from Tyler School and went to work in Wausau at the Battery Shop.
Her marriage to Raymond Betker took place on May 25, 1946, at St. Mary of Torun Catholic Church. The couple moved to Milwaukee where she worked at Trotsles Leather Tanning Company until they closed. In 1972, they moved back to Shantytown area where Martha & Ray dairy farmed until they retired in 1988.
Martha enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino with her daughter. She will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank Ministry St. Joseph's CCU & Palliative Care nurses for the wonderful care given to Martha during her brief stay. Special thanks to Sister Mary Ellen Diermeier for her visits and prayers, it was greatly appreciated. Mom I Love You!
Survivors include her daughter, Roxanne (Bob) Kurszewski of Custer. Her grandchildren, Ashley (Fiancé Josh VanDusen) of Marshfield, Elizabeth, Raymond and Elliot Kurszewski all of Custer.
Sisters, Leona Pampuch of Custer and Mary Jane Charneski of Mosinee. Brother, Mike Jr. (Nancy) Delikowski of Hatley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her step-father, Mike Delikowski Sr. One brother, Alex Davidowski. Brothers-in-law, Paul Pampuch and Leonard Charneski; and sister-in-law, Natalie Davidowski.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. Rev. Augustine Bentil officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church and again on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Parish rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Monday. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, is assisting the family with arrangements.
