Mary Lou Skowronski:
81, of 1842 N. Pella Drive, Stevens Point, died Monday, July 5, 2010 at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point. Mary Lou was a resident of Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Plover. Born December 2, 1928 in Savannah, Georgia. Daughter of the late Louise (Parrish) Crosby.
She graduated from Commercial High School in Savannah, Georgia. Her marriage to Walter Skowronski took place on April 26, 1956 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Her husband died on January 1, 2005.
Mary was a home maker. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Post 568 where she was involved in selling poppies for the organization.
She also volunteered at the Lincoln Center for Meals on Wheels.
She enjoyed traveling, bingo, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter: Patricia "Trish" (Dale) Pliska of Plover. Granddaughter: Tracy Pliska of Plover. Sister: Margaret Cone of Savannah, Georgia.
She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass: 10:30am Thursday, July 8, 2010 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. George Parambukattil officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation on Thursday from 9:30am until time of services at church. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
