Maryann A. Cecilia Lewandowski, age 92 of Port Edwards, formerly of Mill Creek, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards. Maryann was born on November 5, 1925 in Chicago, the daughter of Ludwik and Cecylia (Piehowiak) Orzech. She attended school in the Linwood area then moved back to the Chicago area and was employed at various Manufacturing companies during her early years and during WW II. On May 8, 1948 she was united in marriage to Raymond Lewandowski in Chicago. The couple moved back to Wisconsin and made their home on the family farm in Mill Creek. Maryann was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church along with the Rosary Society. She enjoyed working on the farm, cooking, baking, canning and spending time with family and friends. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters; Caroline Scheppa, Wonder Lake, Ill, and Julia (James) Berry, Rothschild; three sons, Fred (Joyce), James and Jeff (Marge), all of Stevens Point; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Stella (Chuck) Dryer of Waukegan, IL and Irene (Bob) Leher of New Port Richie, FL; brother, Alois (Brenda) Orzech of Chicago; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond in 2011; son-in-law, Bruce Scheppa; siblings, Joseph, Helen Mamola, Casimira Bronk and infant sister Victoria.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 4, 2018 with Rev Dennis Stanchik officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00AM until the time of the Mass on Saturday.
