Maxine Mary Skalski

Maxine Mary Skalski, age 89, a resident of Atrium Senior Living, Stevens Point, passed away, Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Ascension, St. Michael's Hospital with her family at her side. Maxine was born May 24, 1928, the daughter of Peter and Rose (Laszewski) Skalski in Stevens Point where she attended St. Joseph Academy.

After graduation from Alverno College and graduate studies at the Catholic University of America, she taught business courses at high schools in Wisconsin and Connecticut. While in Connecticut, Maxine was employed as an Administrative Assistant in the office of the Catholic Bishop of Bridgeport. Upon her return to Wisconsin, she held the position of Administrative Assistant in the office of Family Ministry of the Diocese of Madison.

Maxine is survived by her sister, Delphine Konopacky; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Kathy) Konopacky, Kris (Nancy) Konopacky, Sue (Arlyn) Clark, Karen (Jeff) Gust, Kathy (Steve) Procknow, Michael Skalski, Jim (Gloria) Skalski, Mary (Steve) Grams and Rick Skalski along with numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Gerald (Ruth) Skalski; brother-in-law, David Konopacky; dearest friend Sylvia Tackowiak; and a great niece, Jessica Konopacky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Monday, January 15, 2018 at ST. BRONISLAVA CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3200 Plover Road, Plover, WI 54467 with Rev. Charlie Richmond presiding. Family and friends may call from 9:00am until the time of the Mass Monday morning. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Bronislava Church or to a local food pantry. The Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
