Melvin T. Piotrowski
85, of 604 Fox Ridge Road, Stevens Point, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at his home. Born: March 6, 1924 in the town of Stockton. Son of the late Leo & Gertrude (Sankey) Piotrowski.
He entered the service on October 19, 1943 in Milwaukee. He was a Merchant Marine. He was honorably discharged on October 6, 1946 in New York.
His marriage to Florence Daczyk took place on November 19, 1949 at St. Peter Catholic Church; after the marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point.
Melvin was owner and operator of Eagle Heating and Plumbing Company, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Moose Family Center #1572 & St. Peter Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and farming which he raised chickens and rabbits and he most enjoyed distilling.
Survivors include 3 daughters: Karen Piotrowski of Stevens Point, Cheryl (Jerry) Zouski of Plover and Donna Piotrowski of Stevens Point. 3 sons: Steven
Piotrowski of Oregon, Charles (Lu Anne) Piotrowski of Stevens Point and Christopher (Carrie) Piotrowski of Stevens Point.
4 Grandchildren: Adam Zouski, Clinton, Chad and Cortney Piotrowski.
Great-Grandson: Jayden Kish.
Also survived by Sisters, Lillian Walker of Florida, Sr. Romana Piotrowski of Arizona, Sr. Bede Piotrowski of Green Bay and Mary Ann Wrycza of Appleton.
Preceded in death by brothers: Lawrence & Chester. Sisters: Alice & Tecla.
Funeral Mass: 10:30am Wednesday October 21, 2009 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Kevin C. Louis officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation on Tuesday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, and again on Wednesday from 9:30am until time of services at the church.
St. Peter's Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name will be established at a later date.
