Michael H. Kruger

July 15, 1947 — February 20, 2007

Michael H. Kruger, age 59, of Bancroft, died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 20, 2007, at home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 15, 1947, in Stevens Point, he lived with his grandparents while growing up in Wisconsin Rapids and he continued to care for them until the time of their deaths. He was a wonderful caregiver for both of them. Mike was a 1965 graduate of Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids and then worked in the emergency rooms at both St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point and Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. For the past 36 years, he has worked at the Stevens Point Country Club, most recently as the banquet manager and in sales. He enjoyed reading and collecting antiques, artwork, historical books and paintings. Mike always wrote wonderful letters.

Aunt: Mary Jones of Tomahawk, Wis.

Uncle: Robert (Marsha) Kruger of Eagle River, Wis.

Niece: Jody Anderson of Alexandria, VA.

Nephew: Tom (Tara) Anderson of Alexandria, Minn.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy and Harvey Kruger, and his brother, Thomas Henke.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 9, 2007, at Immanuel Lutheran Church on 8th Street South in Wisconsin Rapids along with a celebration of his life at the Stevens Point Country Club immediately following the Church service. His ashes will be scattered at a private family gathering. Pisarski Community Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Plover, assisted with arrangements. Mike enjoyed all the staff and members he met over the years at the Stevens Point Country Club. He will always be remembered for his wonderful smile, giving heart and, most of all, his friendship to so many people.
