Michael E. Yanta:
96, of Custer, died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Sylvan Crossings in Stevens Point. Born January 16, 1914 in Portage County. Son of the late Ignatious & Frances (Skipchak) Yanta.
His marriage to Veronica Daniecki took place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia; after the marriage, the couple settled in Custer.
Mike loved his polka music, fishing for bullheads and the church picnics.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Barb Saddison of Human & Health Services, Deanna Van Grisven and Jackie Szehner at Community Care, The staff at Sylvan Crossings and Ministry Home Care Hospice Services.
Survivors include his wife: Veronica Yanta of Custer. Step-Daughter: Alva Clymer of Custer. Nieces: Marge Hudziak and Arlene Meyer. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Thomas Yanta and infant brother, Peter Yanta. Sister: Mary Skipchak.
Funeral Mass: 11:00a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia. Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Visitation on Wednesday from 10:00a.m. until time of services at the church. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, is assisting the family with arrangements.
