Mildred “Millie” Mae Lee

Age 98, of Plover, WI and formerly of Oscoda, MI passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 25, 1928, in Barton City, MI to the late Roff and Marcelle Tooze (Meneau). Millie graduated from high school and soon after, she married Forest Lee on July 12, 1947, in Lincoln, MI.

Most of her life was spent in Oscoda, MI until she moved to Plover, WI in 2010 to be near her daughters. She was the ultimate homemaker in her own home and in the homes of other dear friends.

Millie also spent time working at the Oscoda Bakery. She was an amazing baker, and it was a lifelong passion for her. Millie was also very skilled at needlepoint, and she shared her love for it by teaching many others. She loved cleaning houses, especially windows. It was an art to her, and nobody could ever do it quite like Millie could. She enjoyed reading cookbooks, watching Wheel of Fortune and most especially spending time with family and friends.

Millie was truly an amazing woman that had an energy and drive that was unmatched. Her distinctive “all in” laugh was contagious and she loved sharing those moments with those she loved so much. Her focus was always on everyone else and knowing they were happy and content fulfilled her the most.

Millie is survived by son Brian (Anna) Lee of Chardon, OH, daughter Traci (Perry) Pieper of Plover, WI; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer (Colton) Coy, Paige Pieper, Jessica Lee, Joselyn (Dawson) Mackie, Jordan Lee; great grandson Jonah Lee, loving friend Vern Walters and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Forest, daughter Dee Neis, daughter Shelly Bernard, and dear friend Frank Diplock, Anna McGreevy and Ed and Nan Buresh.

There will be a Celebration of Life held for Millie in Plover, Wisconsin at a later date. Back home in Oscoda, Michigan, we will celebrate Millie on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Buresh Funeral Home, 212 W. River Rd., Oscoda, MI 48750. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Oscoda Pinecrest Cemetery.
