Nicholas Pintar,
age 91, of Stevens Point, died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 27, 1921 in Ashland, WI. He is the son of the late Joseph & Eva (Bailen) Pintar.
His marriage to Irene Jaworski took place on May 29, 1949 at St. Peter Catholic Church, she survives.
Nick worked for several years at Montgomery Ward and for the UWSP in the Athletics Dept. until his retirement.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1170
Nick was an avid golfer, hunter, outdoorsman and also loved and excelled at sports. He was proud of all his grand kids and their accomplishments and loved having them around.
After retiring, he loved having coffee with his friends and volunteering.
He will be missed but never forgotten.
A memorial in his name will be set up at a later date.
Survivors include his wife: Irene, one son: Jerome Pintar of Morgan Hill, CA. One daughter: Karen (Robert) Cook of Rhinelander. Six grandchildren: Christopher, Bryan, Tanya, Timothy, Jeffrey and Sonia. Two great-grandchildren: Devin & Hayla Best. Preceded in death by two brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 am Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Thomas Lindner Officiating. Burial will take place in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of services Thursday morning at the Church.
