Patricia A. McNamara, 87, passed away on August 6, 2017.  Born in Madison, WI on March 11 th , she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes (nee Gorman) Walsh.

Growing up, Patricia lived in many locations around southern Wisconsin. She attended Upper Knapps Creek one room grade school; attended one year at Aquinas High School in LaCrosse; Blue River High School for two years and then graduated from New Richmond High School in 1948.  She then attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, MN graduating in May 1952.

Her marriage to Patrick M. McNamara took place on April 11, 1953 in Erin Prairie, WI. Throughout their marriage, they resided in Fond du Lac and Chippewa Falls until finally settling down in Stevens Point in 1957.  She moved to Plover in 2014. Patrick preceded her in death on April 21, 2002.

Patricia's professional career included working as a staff nurse at St. Mary's in Rochester, MN; worked with the Visiting Nursing Association in Fond du Lac; was a private duty nurse at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point and worked in private home care. Patricia was a staff nurse at the Portage County Home before becoming the Director of Nursing. After seven years, she became the Infirmary Director for the Sisters of St. Joseph and retired after 13 years.

Patricia was one of those people that no matter where you went she knew somebody. She made many friends and is grateful for their kindness, help and prayers over the years.

In her later years she enjoyed going to the area casinos, doing crossword puzzles, reading a variety of newspapers, going out to dinner for special occasions, attending her various school reunions as well as the extended family get-togethers.  She also enjoyed the home and telephone visits with her grandchildren and is very proud of their accomplishments.

Patricia is survived by sons, Michael (Etsuko) of San Antonio, TX; Daniel (Debby) of Franklin, WI; daughter, Elizabeth (Steven) Pecha of Franklin, WI; daughter-in-law, Erin of Green Bay, WI; and son-in-law, Kent Zelhofer, Plover. She is also survived by brothers, Joe and Ed (Renie); sister, Margaret; and sister-in-law, Kay. Further survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She is the proud grandmother of Patrick, Colleen, Caitlin, Ashley, Wayne, Kate, Kathryn and Nora; and 6 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Joseph, Stephen and Kevin; and daughters, Susan, Kathleen and Mary.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pisarski Funeral Home at 703 Second St., Stevens Point. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery.
