Patricia Pliska

Pat, our caring mother died peacefully on July 30, 2026 in her home surrounded by her family.

She was 94 years old.

She was born in Auburndale, WI, daughter of dairy farmers Melvin and Violet Meyer. She attended Auburndale High School. She married Ceylon Greunke and spent over 10 years assisting him in making cheese. After a divorce, she found her soulmate, Edmund Pliska, and relocated to Stevens Point, WI. There she worked in numerous positions in HR and accounting. Pat and Ed were a dynamic duo for almost 43 years. One of their favorite activities was being involved with the Marine Corps League. Ed was a Purple Heart Veteran. They were instrumental in raising funds for Marine Corps League charities and functions. Pat could always be counted on to organize the food provisions for their events. They both enjoyed gardening and their blended family.

After Ed’s death, Pat relocated to Apple Valley, MN to be near her family. She was able to buy the home next to her daughter where she lived the last 14 years of her life. She enjoyed her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren. She never missed birthdays and special occasions. She instilled the importance of family gatherings in her children.

Pat was gifted with creativity. She loved cross-stitching, crocheting, painting and flower arranging. Her flower arrangements reflected her inside beauty. She was an avid Neil Diamond fan attending more than 20 concerts with her daughter over the years.

Patricia is survived by her children: daughter Rebecca Greunke Tomek-Apple Valley, MN, son Don Greunke-Sherman Oaks, CA, step-daughter Shiela Schultz (Richard)-Plover, Wi. Also survived by 8 grandchildren: Emily (Kyle) Harding, Brent (Kim) Greunke, Patrick (Hsia) Greunke, Lisa Creegan (Ryan), Christopher Schultz, Jennifer Monk (Jeff), Dennis Pliska, Jr., Gregory Tomek and 13 great grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by parents, Melvin and Violet Meyer, spouse Edmund Pliska, brother Duane Meyer, son Gregory Greunke and stepson Dennis Pliska.

A Funeral Service will be held for Patricia at 11:15 AM on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point. A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Pliska Family.
