Patricia (Pat) Lee Strasser, our beloved mother, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, surrounded by her family at Whispering Pines in Plover.

Pat was born on July 30, 1931, in Mattoon, Wisconsin, the oldest of four children born to the late Amos and Edna (Weyenberg) Diestler. She spent her early years growing up on a farm, where she learned the value of hard work, family, and perseverance. The family later moved to Wittenberg, where Pat graduated from Wittenberg High School before attending UW–Stevens Point.

It was while studying in Stevens Point that Pat met the love of her life, William (Bill) F. Strasser. They married in Wittenberg on June 14, 1952, and shared 67 years of marriage filled with love, family, and countless cherished memories. Together, they made their home in Stevens Point, where they raised their five children. Bill preceded Pat in death on March 19, 2019.

Pat’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured time spent with Bill, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was immensely proud of each of them. She was an avid gardener, an accomplished seamstress, and an enthusiastic bridge player. Pat and Bill especially loved gathering family together for holidays and special occasions. Their home was a place of warmth, laughter, good food, and treasured family traditions.

Pat balanced raising her family with a fulfilling career in office work. She worked for several businesses including Sentry Insurance, The Travel Shop, and Avis Rent A Car before joining the accounting department at UW–Stevens Point, where she worked until her retirement at age 65.

Pat is survived by her children, Deborah (Donald) Henderson of Traverse City, Michigan; Mark (Judith) Strasser of Stevens Point; Kathleen (Mark) Kluck of Stevens Point; Amy (Kenneth) Sackmann of Appleton, Wisconsin; and Lisa (Timothy) Kluck of Plover, Wisconsin.

She was the proud grandmother of David and Matthew Henderson, Leslie (Jason) Stoning, Laura Strasser, Erin (Dave) Crabill, Kelly (Victoria) Kluck, Erikka Sackmann, Amanda (Allen) Isaacson, and Andrew (Heather) Kluck; and the loving great-grandmother of Landon and Leeah Isaacson, Olivia and Hannah Kluck, and Claire and George Stoning.

She is also survived by her brother, Michael Diestler; sister, Mary (Jim) Kocher; brother-in-law, Ron Newby; sister-in-law, Alice Strasser; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husband, Bill, Pat was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Arden Fierek; brothers-in-law Richard (Duke) Strasser and Dan Haney; and sister-in-law Susan Newby.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the extraordinarily kind, caring, and professional staff at Whispering Pines and St. Croix Hospice for the compassion, dignity, and loving care they gave Pat.

More than a mother, you were the guiding star of our lives. Your love, strength, and devotion shaped who we are, and the memories you created with us will live on in our hearts and in the generations to come.

You will always be loved. You will always be missed. And you will always be in our hearts.

Mass of Christian Burial for Pat will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday August 27, 2026, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 800 Fourth Avenue, Stevens Point. Visitation on Thursday will be from 9:30 A.M. in the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter’s Church until the time of service. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
