Paul Joseph Makowski, 96 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026.
Paul was born on November 29, 1929 to the late John and Laura (Vondale) Makowski in Aurora, Wisconsin.
After schooling, on January 10, 1947, Paul enlisted in the United States Air Force in Fort Schnelling, Minnesota. He served as a corporal with the Flight A 3rd Rescue Squad as an airplane armorer. During his enlistment, he received the Army Occupation Medal of Japan and the Good Conduct Medal. He finished his service to our country on November 13, 1949 in Camp Stoneman, California. This remained one of Paul’s greatest achievements and he was very proud to be a veteran of the United States of America. After the service, Paul worked in construction until retirement.
Paul loved sharing stories of his life experiences with friends and he was known for his kindness amongst his neighbors. He was strong in his faith.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John (Helen) Makowski, and their daughters, Barbara and Jeanie, his sisters, Margaret Makowski and Lorriane (Henry) Herzer, and many cousins and friends.
According to Paul’s wishes, there will be no services held. Paul will be laid to rest with his family in Quinnesec Cemetery in Michigan at a later date. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Makowski Family.
