Rachel J.
Phillip
May 27, 1976 — Jul 17, 2026
Stevens Point, Wisconsin
Rachel J Phillip, 50, of Stevens Point, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 17, 2026 while on vacation with her family. Rachel was born on May 27, 1976 in Wisconsin Rapids to Thomas and Diane (Pionek) Phillip. She grew up in Stevens Point and graduated from SPASH in 1995. She earned an Associates Degree in Computer Electronics from Mid-State Technical College in 2000. She was also certified with CompTIA’s A+ for IT support.
She spent the majority of her career as a business and systems analyst at Associated Bank in Stevens Point and most recently worked as a receptionist in Business Health at Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital. She was looking forward to starting a new job in the UWSP Audiology Department. Rachel was involved in so many events at her boys’ schools throughout their years in THINK Academy in Rudolph, WRAMS in Wisconsin Rapids, and Lincoln High School. They were her life.
Rachel enjoyed creating fine art using the most remarkable media. She could create beautiful art out of simple things like a piece of wood, wallpaper paste, and dried leaves. She loved all animals, and at various times had a menagerie that included a horse, cats, dogs, quails, parakeets, ducks, chickens, fish, and shrimp. (She LOVED watching the shrimp.) She had a very green thumb and would often assess the health of her sister’s plants and revive them when they were on their last legs. She was a devoted daughter who spent many hours caring for her dad and mom, mowing their lawn, playing cards with them, fishing with her dad on his last vacation up north, and checking up on both of them every single day. She had the bubbliest personality and spread positivity, laughter, and happiness everywhere she went.
Her greatest joy was her two boys. She cherished every single moment of their lives and saved every note and picture and card and deformed piece of clay sculpture and scribble. Carl and Anton were her world; and given the choice, she wouldn’t have left them for anything. In keeping with that, memorials will be designated to support their continued education.
Rachel is survived by her family—her sons Carl and Anton Rosenthal; her significant other, Scott Bergman; her mother Diane Phillip; her siblings Becky Phillip, David Phillip, and Tammy Phillip (Jody); her nieces Karrlyn Grosskopf (Phoenix) and Kendallyn Jeske (Joey), aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her dad, Thomas Phillip, her paternal grandparents, Casimer and Esther Phillip, and her maternal grandparents, Henry and Jeanette Pionek.
Rachel’s family would like to thank the staff and guests at Dillman’s Bay Resort and the Lac du Flambeau and Vilas County paramedics for their support in Rachel’s last moments.
