Ralph V. Hurrish:
Age 82, of 3026 County Trunk C in Stevens Point, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 26, 2011 at his home.
He was born June 29, 1929 in Stevens Point. Son of the late Vincent and Helen (Bombera) Hurrish. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with an accounting degree.
He entered the U.S. Army on Aug. 2, 1951 in Milwaukee. He served in Germany until his honorable discharge on July 15, 1953 at Fort Sheridan, IL.
His marriage to Jeanette Lodzinski took place on Aug. 6, 1955 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek.
He was employed at Vetters Mfg. in Stevens Point for several years, then worked for Consolidated Papers in Wisconsin Rapids as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Water and Power Company until his retirement.
He enjoyed woodworking and was active for many years in the Stevens Point Deanery as a secretary. He also was very active in the financial management and as a Lay Minister at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife: Jeanette; two daughters: Jeannine (Dan Selle) Hurrish of Stevens Point and Sarah (Michael) DiPadova of Milwaukee. Two sons: Gabe Hurrish and Carl (Tami) Hurrish both of Stevens Point.
Six grandchildren: David & Erin Cisewski, Nolan & Allie Hurrish and Rivyn & Aurelia DiPadova.
One brother: Deacon Florian "Dutch" (Harriet) Hurrish of Mesa, AZ.
Preceded in death by 1 son: Gregory "Greg" Hurrish and 2 brothers: Daniel & Gene Hurrish.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM Friday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek. Rev. Andrzej Panek Officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 PM Thursday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point and from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the Church on Friday morning. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday eve. at the funeral home.
