Ramona E. Varney:
88, of Stevens Point, died Friday, August 20, 2010 at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston. Born March 1, 1922 in Stevens Point. Daughter of the late Bernard & Anna (Strosin) Zakrzewski. She attended local schools.
Her marriage to Donald Varney took place on November 16, 1957 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Her husband died on February 21, 1987.
Ramona was a member of Newman University Parish.
Survivors include her Brother: Gilbert (Mary Ann) Zakrzewski of Milwaukee. Two Step-Daughters: Patricia McNaul of Pennsylvania and Janet (James) Boldig of Michigan.
Also survived by 19 nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters and 1 step-son: David Varney.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Newman Campus Ministry Endowment Trust at 2108 Fourth Ave. Stevens Point or The Interfaith at the Lincoln Center.
Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 6:00PM Monday, August 23, 2010 at St. Joseph Convent Chapel, 1300 Maria Dr. The Funeral Mass will be at 6:00PM Monday with Fr. Tom Lindner, pastor of Newman University Parish, presiding and Fr. Jim Logan, nephew of Ramona, preaching. Burial St. Stephen Cemetery.
