Raphael “Shorty” R. Perzinski, 102 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. Raphael was born on December 24, 1923, in the town of Stockton. He was the son of the late Michael and Catherine (Wiza) Perzinski. He attended local schools graduating from P.J. Jacobs High school.
Raphael’s marriage to Carole Hoppa took place on November 11, 1961, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. After the marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point for a short time before moving to the town of Stockton. The couple owned and operated the Stockton Bar from 1981 to 1996.
Raphael also worked for Sunrise Medical retiring in 1989. His wife, Carole, preceded him in death on August 4, 2003.
Raphael enjoyed watching his softball team for Carole & Shorty’s Bar, watching the Green Bay Packers and liked to drive his classic cars.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randall; his sisters, Rose Berna, Esther Meshak, Agnes Glodowski, Francis Hoppa and Sophie Gosh; and his brothers, Emil and Clem Perzinski.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Raphael will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1401 Clark Street, Stevens Point. Rev. Jeffrey Hennes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. The visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
