Obituary

Richard Adolph Feltz, 90 of Stevens Point, passed away in the arms of his loving wife, Nancy, at their home on November 29, 2025.

He was the third of seven children born to the late Bernard and Cecylia Feltz on June 17th, 1935 in Arnott, WI. “Richie” spoke Polish until he learned English while attending the one room schoolhouse in Arnott. Throughout his life he loved quality time with family/friends, climbing high, going fast, all things outdoors and anything mechanical. As a boy he would walk out the back door with his gun as his mother would say “don’t get into trouble”. Many area windmills and the earliest diesel irrigation systems were maintained/repaired by him. He joined the WI National Guard Red Arrow Unit in 1952, attained a rank of Sergeant E6 and participated in the Berlin Crisis. In 1966 he bought a 1st generation snowmobile kit, became hooked, co-started Arnott Area Star Riders and coordinated many of the area trails for decades. His love of mechanical things served him well as a Construction Supervisor for Consolidated Papers until his retirement. The engineers he worked with fondly commented that it was just understood the drawings were to be updated as the new buildings/equipment were going to be installed “Richies” way. After retirement he bluegill fished every morning, except when the ice was thin. The one thing that is certain, heaven will always overflow with fried bluegill, venison, garden vegetables and sweetcorn from this day forward.

His marriage to Nancy Pavelski took place on October 1, 1955 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. The couple purchased land in the Town of Plover, built their home/family hobby farm and lived there until his passing. They worked hard and raised 6 children, recently celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Nancy, adoring children Barbara (Troy Adams), William (Janice) Feltz, Sharon (Frank) Forte, Gary (Deb) Feltz, Dale (Shelly) Feltz, Jane (John) Richards, proud grandpa of 23 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and brother Fred (Bonnie) Feltz.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Cecylia Feltz, In-laws Emil and Agnes Pavelski, siblings Robert, Bernadine, Leroy, Bernard Jr, and Diane.

Dad, you were an inspiration to us. You taught us to do things the right way instead of the easy way and to work hard - play hard!

Special Thanks to St Croix Hospice, Saint Bronislava Parish and Pisarski Funeral Homes.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Saint Bronislava Catholic Church, 3200 Plover Road, Plover.
