Robert "Bob" Ganski

Robert "Bob" Ganski, age 80 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at Marshfield Medical Center on Saturday, September 29 ^th 2018 with his loving wife, Diane, of 53 years at his side.

Bob was born April 8, 1938 in LaCrosse, WI, son of the late Lillian Ganski. On September 4, 1965, he was united in marriage to Diane Hoppa at St Ladislaus Parish in Bevent, WI.
Bob started working for American Motors for 7 years in his early 20's. Then started his driving career with the Teamsters Union, operating semis for the Kohl's Foods Corporation for 30 years until retirement in 1996.

Bob loved classic cars and trucks, he enjoyed Nascar racing and antique farm tractors & implements. He also enjoyed operating model trains and railroad equipment. He loved listening to polka music, peanut butter cookies, and going to church picnics, traveling abroad, and visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Diane, his Aunt Alvina Kurszewski, 2 brother's-in-law Gilbert ( Gibby ) Hoppa and Maynard Lepak, 4 sister's-in-law, Syliva Pukrop, Jeanette Bembenek, Eileen DeMeyer & Delores Hoppa, Godchildren Sandy Armstrong, Lisa Radomski, Kim Isakson, and Scott Hintz, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by step-brothers Clarence Skierka, Felix Skierka and one step-sister Mary Hoppa.

Diane would like to extend her sincerest thanks to all of the family members and friends that stopped by to visit, and show their support during Bob's stay in the hospital, and to the staff at the Marshfield Medical Center, especially Dr. Soskos and the 6 ^th floor staff and the CCU staff on the 3 ^rd floor, for the care and compassion given to him during his stay there.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday Oct. 6, 2018 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent. The Rev. Augustine Bentil will officiate. Visitation will start at 9:00 am until the time of services with a 10 am rosary Saturday morning at the Church. Burial will take place in the Parish cemetery.
