Romona A. Allen
Of Plover died early Friday morning December 26, 2014 surrounded by her daughters at Ministry- St. Joseph's Hospital.
Age 85 Romona was born January 10, 1929 in Stevens Point to the late O'Nufry and Laura (Glodowski) Werowinski.
She attended local grade schools and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1947.
Her marriage to Lawrence E. Allen took place on June 5, 1954 at St. Stephens Church in Stevens Point. Her husband preceded her in death in 1996.
In her younger years Romona worked for Montgomery Ward's Dress Shop. She also worked for Del Monte in Plover for many years during the summer canning season but most of the time she was a homemaker.
Romona was a lifetime member of the VFW Plover Post 10262 Auxiliary and St. Bronislava Catholic Church. She enjoyed Camping and traveling, including Casino Trips.
She listened to the Sunday morning Polka music and in the summer enjoyed the church picnics. Her most precious time was socializing with friends and spending time with her family.
In lieu of flowers a memorial in Romona's name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include her three daughters; Susan Allen of Plover, Debbie (Doug) Beard of Stevens Point and Sharon (Brian) Gulke of Custer.
Further survived by three grandsons; Daniel (Michelle) Beard, Cody Beard and Jesse Gulke and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence and one sister and one brother.
The VFW Auxiliary will have their funeral ritual at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 2911 Plover Road, Plover. Immediately following will be the Funeral Services with Deacon Vern Linzmeier officiating. Burial will be in the Plover Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9:30 A.M Tuesday morning at the Funeral Home until the time for services.
