Ronald James Bodden, age 79,
Of Stevens Point died peacefully Thursday morning July 6, 2017 at his home. Ron was vibrant and healthy until the rare disease PSP, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, took hold of his body. Ronald was born September 19, 1937 in Theresa, WI. He was the son of the late Clarence and Ruth (Lyons) Bodden.
He served 4 years in the United States Coast Guard. He was honorably discharged in 1958. After his service duty was complete, Ron went to Spencerian Business College obtaining a degree in accounting.
He married the love of his life, the former Mary Ellen Wiesner on January 9, 1965 in Milwaukee at Saint John de Nepomuc Catholic Church. The day that Mary became his wife and the births of his 5 children were the proudest days of his life. The couple lived in Brookfield for the first twenty years of marriage before moving to Stevens Point in 1985. Ron retired in 1998 from Associated Bank as Vice President of Corporate Accounting.
Ron was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandpa. He went to daily mass and lived out his Catholic faith. After the Lord, spending time with his family was the most important thing in Ron's life. He spent much of his time with his grandchildren, from playing sports in the yard with the older kids to laying on the floor building towers with the little ones to holding the sweet babies in his arms. Ron was an avid pro-life advocate.
He spent many years praying for the unborn and for the end to abortion.
