Stephen S. Misiewicz:

Age 94, a resident of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, and formerly of Stevens Point, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca.

He was born Aug. 19, 1918 to Walter & Clara (Mukuch) Misiewicz in the Town of Bevent. The family moved to the Town of Hull on Reserve Dr. where they operated their family farm.

Steve attended St. Casimir Catholic School and Church and later St. Peter Catholic Church.

He entered the US Army on March 27, 1942 in Madison, WI. He received the Victory Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with 2 bronze battle stars, 2 overseas service bars, 1 service stripe and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 13, 1946 at Fort Sheridan, IL.

Before entering the service, Steve worked at the Point Bakery and Soo Line Railroad. After the service, Steve was head cook at various restaurants, including Empire Cafe on Main St. & Uneed Cafe on North Second St. He also worked at Unique Bar as a Bartender for 28 years.

Steve was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and loved going to Church Picnics. He also loved polka music and going to the Lincoln center.

Survivors include one brother: Joseph (Regina) Misiewicz, one sister: Catherine Wojtalewicz, one sister-in-law: Cyrene Misiewicz and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 infant brother, 1 infant sister, 3 sisters: Genevieve Jakubowski, Helen Danczyk and Ann Kawleski, 3 brothers: Stanley, Frank & John Misiewicz, 3 brothers-in-law: Larry, Edmund & John, 1 niece: Pat Perisic & 1 nephew: Joe Misiewicz.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 am Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation from 9:30 am until the time of services Friday morning in the St. Faustina Room at St. Peter Church. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
