Sylvester "Silver" Niemczyk, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 8 th 2018. He was born on May 24, 1932 to William and Martha (Trzinski) in the Town of Linwood, WI. He grew up in Mill Creek and lived in Stevens Point until 1971 and moved to Plover where he currently resided.

He attended Green Meadow - Mill Creek schools up until grade 5 and then at a very early age began working to help support his family at the local farms. He married the love of his life and wife of 64 years, Beverly Mae Bohm on May 9, 1953 in Kileen, TX.

He entered the US Army on Feb. 11, 1953 in Milwaukee, WI. He served in Germany during the Korean conflict and received the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) & National Defense Service Medal. He was honorable discharged on Feb. 10, 1955 at Fort Sheridan, IL. Following his active duty, he served in the Army Reserve for 6 years and went to work as a Certified Auto Mechanic for Bake Rite, then with Ford Dealers in St. Pt. and Gleue Ford-Mercury in Wis. Rapids until his retirement in 1995. He and his wife volunteered at the Holly Shoppe and served as the Co-Chairpersons for 5 yrs. for its annual Plant sale.

Silver loved anything mechanical. He was the family mechanic and fix-it man. It was here that he was in his element. In his later years he enjoyed traveling with his wife and family in their truck camper to many U.S. states including Alaska. They spent their 40th Wedding Anniversary in Hawaii and their 60th on a cruise to Alaska. They also enjoyed several cruises to the Caribbean and New England/Canada. Throughout his life Silver enjoyed Camping, Woodcrafts, Gardening, Hunting, Fishing, Playing Board games, and in the past several years playing cards with friends. Most of all Silver loved and cared for his extensive family.

Any money given will be used to set up a Memorial Scholarship fund in Silver's name at Mid-State Technical College. The funds will be used for the education of a student focusing on automotive technology.

Survivors include his wife: Beverly "Bev", Four sons: Randy (Diane) of Conover, David (Donna) of Elmwood, Ron (Nita) of Oconomowoc and Mike (Marilou) of Eagle River.

Five daughters: Kathy (Dave) Koch of Grafton, Cindy (Tim) King of Stevens Point, Sandy Irwin of Auburndale, Cheri Niemczyk of Wausau & Karen (Tom Trinkle) Niemczyk of West Bend.

17 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 7 Step-Grandchildren & 16 Step Great-Grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Silver was preceded in death by 1 brother Chet and 5 sisters Evelyn Spangle, Faustina Pelot, Sophie Laska, Pearl King, Susan Sadogierski.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. Rev. Edward Shuttleworth will be officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place in the Parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Friday May 11, 2018 at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home at 2911 Plover Road in Plover, and from 9:30 AM until the time of services Saturday morning at the Church.
