Theresa H. Kieliszewski

Of Stevens Point, died Wednesday afternoon, September 30, 2009 at the Portage County Health Care Center.

Age 96. Theresa was born January 15, 1913 in Town of Eau Pleine, WI. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Julia (Bella) Kawleski.

Her marriage to Felix Kieliszewski took place on May 23, 1932 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Junction City. After their marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point. Her husband, Felix, died February 19, 1971.

Theresa was a member of the St. Peter's Rosary Society Rose 50, and also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 568.

Theresa was known for her homemade biscuits and Ponczkas. She loved embroidery and needlework and worked many volunteer hours for River Pines Living Center and Portage County Home helping out with bingo and birthday parties for the residents.

She also enjoyed making Poppies for the VFW Poppy sale each year, but most of all her great joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Survivors include two daughters, Delores Hintz of Stevens Point and Janet Setness of Portland, Oregon.

Her two sons, Herman (Dixie) Kiel of Plover and Tom (Darlene) Kieliszewski of Stevens Point.

Survivors also include 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Her five sisters, Lucille Grezenski, Clara Molski and Cecelia (Edward) Pionek all of Stevens Point, and Ramona Kizewski of Plover, and Betty Turzinski of Adams-Friendship and one brother, Edmund (Bernice) Kawleski of Mosinee.

She is also survived by her son-in-law, Ray Meshak, and daughter-in-law, Anita Kieliszewski of Stevens Point.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Felix, two sons Lambert "Bambi" and Robert Kieliszewski. One daughter, Maryann Meshak, and two brothers and one sister.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Monday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. Monday at St. Stephen's Church until the time for mass. The Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home of Stevens Point is assisting the family with arrangements.
