Theresa M. Steward
Age 86 of Stevens Point passed away early Saturday morning July 27, 2019 at the Portage County Health Care Center while under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Theresa was born May 25, 1933 in Amherst Junction. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Constance (Kluck) Blaskey. She attended local grade schools and graduated from St. Josephs Academy in 1951.
Her marriage to William P. "Bill" Steward took place on May 18, 1957 at Immaculate St. Mary's Catholic Church in Custer. After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point, Her husband Bill preceded her in death on November 22, 2014.
Theresa worked for Hardware Mutual Insurance (currently Sentry Insurance) and also Haka-Glinski Law offices for number of years. She then worked for 1 st National Bank (now BMO) in the Trust department for over 30 years retiring in 1995.
In Lieu of flowers, a memorial in Theresa's name will be established at a later date.
Theresa enjoyed playing bridge, and as an avid sports fan love watching the Brewers and Packers. She enjoyed going rummaging with her sister Joan and trying her luck at the Casino every so often. She also volunteered her time working Bingo at St. Joseph church and was a member of the American Legion Post 6 Auxiliary for many years.
Together Theresa and Bill raised seven children; Karen T. (Randall) DeWitt of Plover, Betty J. Steward-Anderson of Detroit Lakes, MN< Tammy M. (Thomas) Porter of Stevens Point, David M. (Brendasue) Steward of Hudson, WI, Deborah L. Steward (Amy Hoover) of Canandaigua, NY, Richard J. (Kristin) Steward of Kalamazoo, MI, and Mark W. (Gina Templin) Steward of Baraboo, WI.
Further survived by her 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Her two step daughters Patricia S. "Patti" Steward of Plover and Marguerite A. "Peggy" Pallan (Harlan) of Farmington, MN. Her sister Joan (John) Raikowski of Rudolph and one brother Val Blaskey of Custer, and a sister in law Paulette Blaskey of Custer.
Preceded by her husband Bill, twin grandchildren Grace & McKenna Steward, Son in law Erick J, Anderson, Daughter in law; Kimberly (Hampton) Steward, two brothers Ray Blaskey and Greg Blaskey, four sisters Christine Zunker, Florence Grezinski, Germaine Blaskey and Beatrice Danielski. One step son Billy Steward and two brother in laws Peter Ligman and Emil Danielski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday July 31, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jeffrey Hennes officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Stephens Parish Cemetery. Family and Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Family Center of St. Joseph Church until the time for mass. The Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point is honored to be serving the family.
