Verona H. Trzinski, age 97, of Stevens Point passed away Sunday Jan. 10, 2016 in the loving arms of our Lord at the Portage County Health Care Center. Verona had been a resident there for the past seven years.
Verona was born March 2, 1918 in Stevens Point to the late Theodore and Helen (Ceplina) Lukasavage. She attended local schools in Stevens Point.
Verona married Joseph Trzinski on June 29, 1936 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Stevens Point. Joseph passed away June 18, 1986. Verona married Louis Strzyzewski in October of 1993. Louis passed away May 16, 1997. Louis had no children.
After staying at home with the children until school age, Verona worked at Campbells later McCains department store for over 20 years in the lingerie department as head of the department and slim wear buyer.
Verona belonged to St. Peter rosary society rose # 13 and enjoyed playing cards, partying, baking and cooking, puzzles, traveling and crocheting. Many of her afghans are being used by family and friends. She also made sure her children and especially her grandchildren received a good education and good job.
Verona is survived by three sons; David (Carol) of Amherst Junction, Dennis of Stevens Point and Donald (Joan) of Stevens Point. One son-in-law; Robert Zdroik of Stevens Point, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Judith Ann and all of her siblings; 6 brothers; Peter, Stanley, Johnny, Nick, Casimer and Joe. 6 sisters; Alvina, Anna, Gertrude, Fran, Tillie and Catherine.
Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Wednesday Jan. 13, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph V. will officiate. Burial will take place in the Guardian Angel cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services Wednesday morning in the St. Faustina room at St. Peter Church. St. Peter rosary society will pray a rosary at 9:45 AM Wednesday morning.
