Victor J. Lorbeck, age 79, of 1706 Torun Road, Stevens Point, died early Tuesday morning, Jan. 9, 2007, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Born Feb. 25, 1927, in Sheboygan to the late Victor and Ada (Klopatek) Lorbeck.
He entered the U.S. Army on Jan. 4, 1946, in Temple, Texas, and was honorably discharged as a private on Nov. 29, 1948, at Fort Dix, New Jersey, having earned the American Theater ribbon and WWII Victory ribbon.
On April 4, 1959, he was married to Mary Ann Dobeck in Waukegan, Illinois. The couple lived in Milwaukee where Victor worked as a carpenter for many major construction projects. He retired from Jones Island – City of Milwaukee, in 1989. Victor and Mary Ann moved to Stevens Point in 1991.
He was a member of American Legion Post. No. 6 and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Daughter: Sandra (Dan) Jackson of Valley Springs, CA.
Grandson: Nathan (Virginia) Price of Phoenix, AZ.

Ruth (Ben) Lapinski of Madison;
Elaine (John) Dobeck of Stevens Point.
2 Sisters-in-Law:
Gerri Lorbeck of Stevens Point;
Arlene Lorbeck of Racine.

In addition to his parents, Victor was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Richard, Lloyd, Greg and Henry.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in the town of Hull with the Rev. Wesley Janowski officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point and again at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time for Mass. The rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and American Legion Post No. 6 will have a ritual at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
