Stevens Point

Virginia Sikorski, 94, (born April 7, 1931) died on December 23, 2025, at the Aspirus Hospital in Stevens Point surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, her parents Joseph and Anna (Wroblewski) Kosobucki, an infant daughter Janet, son Anthony, two brothers Chester and Ernest Kosobucki, grandson Jacob Krembs, brother-in-law Conrad Domaszek, sister-in-law Rita Kosobucki, and numerous family and friends.

She is survived by her son Jerome Sikorski (Cindy), daughter Dorothy Krembs (David), sister Rita Domaszek, six grandchildren: Sarah Krembs, Matthew Sikorski (Ashley Tewes), Jessica Vassar (Michael), Rebecca Adams (Stefan), Nicole Skadahl (Luke), Red Pendragon (Reggie), nine great-grandchildren and a surviving sister-in-law Delores Janick.

Virginia grew up on her parents' farm in Rosholt, WI, and attended St. Adalbert's Parish School.

As a life-long member of PCCW at Holy Spirit Parish, she prayed the rosary at least once every day of her life. Over her long life she spent thousands of hours visiting and keeping vigil beside family and friends in sick beds, hospital rooms, nursing homes, and at their funerals.

As a child she learned embroidery from her mother, a hobby she continued until almost the time of her death. Over the years she embroidered hundreds of dish towels, tablecloths, and pillowcases which she gifted to every family member and friend for all occasions: birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and often, for no other reason than because she enjoyed making and giving away these homemade mementos.

Her favorite activity in life was to cook holiday meals for the entire family, sometimes as many as 25 people. It was important to her that everyone would eat together so she would set up tables in a line stretching the entire house from the kitchen door through the dining room and into the living room. She covered the various tables with tablecloths she had embroidered herself, and filled them with platters, plates and bowls of homemade food. "Eat, eat," she encouraged the family proudly and happily.

She enjoyed playing BINGO and going to various BINGO halls with relatives and friends, especially with her sister, Rita. She was also a Brewers and Packers fan and through the years she watched almost all of their games on TV.

Virginia's family thanks the staff at Wellington Place where she lived the last 1 1/2 years of her life. She would tell everyone how good they were to her, how they made her feel safe and included. Thank you also goes to Samantha at Compassus Home Health, her nurse, whose care and attention earned Virginia's trust. Thanks also goes out to Mary at Silver Scissors who did Virginia's hair for 30 years. Getting a weekly wash and set was Virginia's "extravagant" gift to herself. The family also thanks ICU-IMC nurses Diane and Taylor, who showed so much compassion for Virginia's comfort and care at the end, and for their attention and empathy for Virginia's family.
