Walter Nichiporuk, age 90, formerly of Stevens Point, WI, passed away Saturday Jan. 30, 2016 in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born Sept. 5, 1925 in Poland. He is the son of the late Conrad & Anna (Kivaka) Nichiporuk.

His marriage to Antonia took place in 1977 in Chicago, IL. After their marriage the couple settled in Chicago until his retirement moving to Stevens Point, WI in 1995.

Walter worked for the Western Felt Company in Chicago. He enjoyed playing the Mandolin and Accordion, spending time on his farm, and being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by one son: Nick J. Nichiporuk of Chicago, IL. Three grandchildren: Jonathon (Beth) Nichiporuk of Clinton, IA, Jennifer Nichiporuk of Nashville, TN & Jamie Nichiporuk of Bowling Green, KY. Two step grandchildren: Jason and Justin Martin both of Leitchfield, KY. One brother: Boris (Eugenia) Nichiporuk of Chicago, IL. Former Daughter-in-Law, Guardian and Caregiver, Susan E. Martin of Leitchfield, KY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday February 5, 2016 at the Pisarski Funeral Home at 703 Second St. in Stevens Point, WI. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until the time of services Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Ted Trifon will officiate. Burial will take place in the Guardian Angel cemetery. Pisarski funeral home is honored to be serving the family.
