Wayne Harvey Giese, 93 of Stevens Point, passed away on March 22, 2026.
Wayne was born on February 9, 1933 to the late Oscar and Mary (Finn) Giese. He attended River Valley School; a one room school where his father and grandmother also attended. Wayne graduated from P.J. Jacobs in 1951.
On January 17, 1953, Wayne married Rosetta Martin and they welcomed 4 children. Rosetta preceded Wayne in passing on November 17, 2019. They were married for 66 years. Wayne was in the National Guard for 8+ years. Wayne retired from Consolidated Papers after many years of dedication.
Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He raised bees for years as his grandfather and great grandfather did before him. Wayne was talented with carpentry and general fixing up.
After retirement, Wayne enjoyed collecting antiques, especially ice cream scoops. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the years with Egypt and Isreal being highlights. Wayne traveled to D.C. through the Honor Flight. More recently, in 2023, Wayne was inducted in the SPASH Hall Fame as a member of the 1949 Wrestling Team State Champions.
Wayne was proud to be the longest member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church.
The family would like to thank Arborwood Assisted Living and Aspirus Hospice for their compassionate care of Wayne over the past few months.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta (“Dockey”), and brothers, Loren and Gerald.
He is survived by his four children Curtis (Suzanne), James (Lois), Jeffry, and Patti Todd (Doug). He is further survived by his brother, Forest “Fritz” Giese, 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for Wayne will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 1919 Wyatt Ave, Stevens Point. The service will be led by Pastor Joshua Baumann. A visitation will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM at the church until the time of service. Burial will follow in McDill Cemetery, 4895 WIS-HH, Plover. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Giese Family.
We invite and encourage those wishing to order flowers for the Giese Family to do so directly on the Pisarski Funeral Home website which will take you to a local florist. This will ensure timely delivery.
