William C. Bredek

WILLIAM "BILL" C. BREDEK:
Of 420 White Oak Avenue, Plover, died Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at his home. Age: 80. Born December 14, 1926 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was a son of immigrants from Lithuania. During his military career, Bill received his GED. After serving 30 years in the Army, he took part in the GI Bill and received an associate degree in accounting.

He entered the service on September 19, 1946 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He retired from the Army as a Sergeant Major on March 3, 1975 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. During his 30 years in the Army, he married Ruth Beulah on December 15, 1954 in Panama. Bill served two tours of duty in Korea. He was stationed with his family for two years in Turkey, three years in Germany and two years in Africa.

He received the Victory Medal, Occupation Medal, American Camp Ribbon, Good Conduct with 3 loops, Sharp Shooter Medal, WWII Victory Medal, American Occupational Medal Japan, Korean Service Medal with 4 bronze service stars, Good Conduct Medal with 4 bronze loops, Fifth U.S. Army Certificate of Achievement, Korean Medal of Achievement, Korean Service Medal with 6 Bronze stars, Combat infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct 7th Award, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct 8th Award, National Defense Service Medal with 1 Oak leaf Cluster & Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation Medal.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8637. He enjoyed fishing, radio control airplanes, traveling. The couple spent their winters in Mississippi & Florida. The couple also had a home in northern Wisconsin on Smokey Lake in Phelps, Wisconsin. Bill was a manager of Smokey Lake Reserve. He enjoyed his time with his pet companion, Ginger.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 3:00PM Friday at Pisarski Community Funeral Home And Cremation Center in Plover. Visitation Friday from 1:00PM until time of services at the funeral home. Pastor Jack Austin officiating. Private Burial will be at the Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, King.
