William "Bill" Ward Gustafson

79, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Harmony Assisted Living in Stevens Point on Saturday, February 23, 2013. Bill was born on August 18, 1933 in Eau Pleine, WI, to the late Roy & Mildred (Lilyquist) Gustafson.

He attended a one-room school house in Junction City and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1951. On March 6, 1973 he married Henrietta Gumney.

He lived in Wisconsin Rapids, Junction City and Stevens Point and worked at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation until retiring.

Bill will be especially remembered for his love of family, fishing, hunting, horseshoe, bowling and playing sheepshead and blackjack.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta of Stevens Point. Three Children, Randolph (Jackie) Gustafson of Wisconsin Rapids, Jody (Tom) Hanneman of Wisconsin Rapids and Kelly (Dennis) Roth-Rosenbrook of Stevens Point. Six grandchildren, Brandon, Shannon, Leann, Matthew, Nicholas and Olivia. Eight great-grandchildren, Collin, Noah, Jordan, Aubrey, Alivea, Bella, Tanner and Joshua. Brother, Kenneth (Rosemary) Gustafson of Wisconsin Rapids. Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Skibba.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Harmony Assisted Living for their excellent care of our loved one.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church, Plover. Rev. James Trempe will officiate. Burial will take place in the spring at Runkel Cemetery in the Town of Eau Pleine. Visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Road, Plover, and again on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Prayer service will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
