William Casimir Wierzba, 84 of Rosholt, passed away peacefully at North Haven Assisted Living on March 3, 2026 after a lengthy illness.
Billy was born on August 20, 1941 to Stephen and Lucille (Jelinski) Wierzba. He attended area grade schools and graduated from Rosholt High School.
Billy was drafted into the Army on February 19, 1964. He served for 2 years as an Army medic. His accolades include a good conduct metal and expert level rifleman. He was honorably discharged on February 18, 1966. After his service in the military, he worked on the farm and for the Town of Sharon.
Billy loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, and throwing horseshoes. He enjoyed the Brewers, the Bucks, and the Packers. He grew and sold sweet corn and maintained a beautiful apple orchard.
Billy is survived by his 4 brothers; Larry, Jack (Marilyn) Don (Arelene), and Mike Wierzba, and 2 sisters; Delores Wryca and Darlene (Bill) Phillip. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Gayle Wierzba and Chris Wierzba. He is further survived by his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Lucille; his brothers, Albert, Robert, and Henry; his brother-in-law, Peter Wrycza Jr; and his sisters-in-law, Charolotte and Alice.
The family would like to thank the staff at North Haven Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care of Billy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Billy will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church- 7375 Church St. Custer. Father Mark Miller will be officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Burial with full military honors by the Plover VFW will follow in the parish cemetery. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Wierzba Family.
